上海外国语大学教授、博士生导师,大中小学外语国家教材建设重点研究基地(上外)首席专家,上海市英语教育教学研究基地首席专家,《外国语》主编,中国英汉语比较研究会认知语言学专业委员会名誉会长,高校外语学刊专业委员会秘书长,教育部高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会副主任委员,Cognitive Linguistics 等国际期刊编委。长期从事认知语言学和外语教学理论与实践研究。主编《新目标大学英语》系列教材(2016),《普通高中教科书·英语》(上外版)(2020)、《义务教育教科书·英语》(1-9年级,上教版)(2024)等。
Shu Dingfang, Professor
Shu Dingfang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Shanghai International Studies University. He serves as the chief expert of the Shanghai Center for Research in English Language Education (SCRELE) and the chief expert of the National Research Institute for Teaching Materials (SISU). He is also the editor-in-chief of Foreign Languages (Journal of Shanghai International Studies University). Shu is the honorary president of the Cognitive Linguistics Professional Committee of the China English and Chinese Comparative Research Association, vice president of the Shanghai Language Association, and secretary-general of the National Association of Foreign Language Journals in Universities. He is the deputy director of the Foreign Language Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education and serves on the editorial board of international journals such as Cognitive Linguistics. Shu has long been engaged in research on cognitive linguistics and theories and practices of foreign language teaching. He has authored several books, including Modern Foreign Language Teaching: Theory, Practice, and Methods (1996, 2008), Studies in Metaphor (2000), Modern Semantics (2000), Foreign Language Teaching Reform: Issues and Strategies (2004), Cognitive Semantics (2008), The Road to Successful College English Teaching (2010), Research on China's Foreign Language Strategy (2012), Research Methods in Cognitive Linguistics (2013), and Cognitive Linguistics Dictionary (2023). He is also the chief editor of the New Target College English series (2016) and the English textbook for general high schools (2020) published by Shanghai International Studies University Press.
